PinCharming - Safety Pin Jewelry with a Twist

I was bead shopping yet again while on vacation and came across these wonderful safety pins with removable tops. My imagination went off on it's own, Happy Birthday, Steam Punk, Christmas you name it you can create it with your favorite beads, charms, watches....

Here's a quick, easy and inexpensive way to make keepsake jewelry for yourself, friends and family.
Let your imagination go wild, add your own charms to make it special.

I think this would be a perfect project for your favorite Girl Scout Group.

You can order the pins from  http://www.YosemiteBeadGallery.etsy.com
Here are a few to get you started.

If you love turtles like I do, oh and think what you could do
with some owl charms. The watches could be turned upside
down so you could see the time when you are wearing it.

Going to the Sun

This open air red bus was our transportation to Glacier National Park and what a ride that was. If you've never experienced the "Going To The Sun" highway it's quite a treat.

Fall Is In The Air

Montana was a beautiful state to visit. Flathead Lake is huge.
We lingered in the bead shops, spent a day with Nancy Cawdrey at her silk painting studio, and spent a day at Whitefish making clay beads.

This was just a small portion of the lake, the tour boat was not operating so we opted to drive around the lake seeing all the small towns.

Hitting the Bead Shops In Montana

I'll be heading to Montana the week of Aug. 14 - 24 to celebrate my birthday with a girlfriend. Checking out bead shops in the area is high on our list. We'll also be visiting Glacier National Park, and I have a new camera, so hopefully I'll have some great photos to share with everyone.

I'm working on improving my photos, look for my custom made aluminum spacers coming soon.
These can be personalized and customized in several ways, probably dozens I haven't thought of yet.

DIY Custom Spacer Bars For Your Jewelry

Need a spacer bar for your jewelry creation! I discovered a quick and easy way to get the color and size you want every time.

Cut a piece of 20 gauge wire approximately 1-3/8" long.
With your round nose pliers, make an o shape at one end

Add beads and close with another o shape at the end.

The chunky watch bands look really great when you customize them with custom made spacer bars.

Beads All Over The Place

My passion is beads. Several years ago a girlfriend and I walked through the doors of a wonderful bead shop, we were hooked. The sparkle, texture, colors...It's been a bead affair ever since.

This blog is my little place in space to share some of the happenings in my life and studio.
